Covers?

**Updated News** You can now like my music on facebook. http://facebook.com/milkmand4n

So, I've been working on a lot of covers lately. Mostly it's a good way to work on a more professional sound by having an already refined product to compare it to. But it's also a fantastic way to put my own spin on songs I already enjoy. I'll be releasing my cover of "Nothing" by The Script shortly. A friend recommended this song, and I enjoyed making the cover.

My question is, do my few listeners enjoy me doing covers? Would you prefer I stuck to writing originals (even if it takes forever for me to be inspired enough to write one)? Do you guys have any good suggestions for future covers?

And by the way. Thank you. Thank you so much to everyone who's listened to me work through my music all these years. It's been the greatest hobby ever. I bring all my music equipment to work now, and do my best to work on it there. It isn't ideal, but it helps fill the time in between emergency calls. I work a 4 day on 4 day off, on call 24 hours a day, shift with the Ambulance service. It's been great. I truly truly love my job, but that doesn't mean I've lost my passion for music. I just wish I could pay for more schooling, so maybe one day I'll sell a song so good it'll put my through more school ;). Take care all you crazy people. Stick to your passions and you'll always be happy.

Sincerely,
MMD

Are you really 23? :S Your Cute hehe :P

Yes I am definitely 23 last I checked. And thank you very much, it's the uniform I assure you.

Well, I don't mind as long as I don't know the songs you're covering :D I'm glad you can manage. Someone big got interested in your Beautiful Savage, that's something! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7Fuh2 GHEDc&feature=channel_video_title

Your covers are good, they're well made and the populace here likes them. It just doesn't say as much about you as an artist as your original scores, which is fine, it's not like you've got to prove something to us.

Personally, I live for your classical pieces. Elements of Sublimity and Broken Requiem are two of my ten highest played songs according to iTunes, both with over 400 listens, Elements just over 5.

And you may not think much of it, but Breach Forth is a terrific song, if not lazily ended.

Your classical work just sounds to me like it contains more soul, stronger emotion, and more emotional variance than any of your covers. And this is coming from someone who doesn't listen to classical on the regular, with one exception, I suppose.

But you should really disregard my wants, because you make music for you, because you love it. So if you wanna do covers, go for it. You've got enough talent to spread it over several genres, so why not? It can only get you more exposure. And if nothing else, at least you're having a great time, right?

I prefer originals, even if it takes longer-but it's your call. Your music is good no matter what it is. I love the sounds you produce. My favorites are Sand Castles and When I Wake.

I enjoy all your work in general, because it's balanced; you write and sing your own songs, do covers and make classical music. You are not monotonous, which is good.

Familiar music, eh

Worry not, that music was sold to them under a license to use it as such :)
